The project is part of the $3.6bn Western Sydney Infrastructure plan which aims to deliver new and upgraded roads to support integrated transport in the region as well as to transform the economy of Western Sydney by supporting the Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek foreseen to start operation in 2026.
The Minister for Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres also declared: “Once the entire $1.6 billion The Northern Road Upgrade is completed, motorists travelling between Narellan and Penrith will benefit from 35 kilometres of upgraded road, meaning increased road capacity, less congestion and safer roads.”
Work on the project is to start soon for a completion in 2020.
