Tokyo-based HiBot has developed an amphibious micro-robot capable of crawling through pipes for data collection and visualization.
The robot, called THESBOT, can analyze pipe-wall thickness, flow rates and ambient soil and weather conditions to grade pipe infrastructure on an A to F scale.
PUBLICITÉ
THESBOT is a sinuous wheeled micro-robot that snakes its way through narrow pipework, transmitting real-time video and gathering other data as it does so. It is intended for use in 3, 4, 6 or 8-inch diameter pipes in the oil, gas and water industries.
