Rosrao relies on Scheuerle to move Russian nuclear submarines

Rosatom’s Russian subsidiary, Rosrao, relies on a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) with 42 axle lines to move nuclear submarine reactors.

Rosrao starts its activities in 2009 and is rapidly making a place in the management of fuel waste, radioactive waste and decommissioning. In order to equip itself with a reliable vehicle, the company turned to TII Group, which also pledged to train Rosrao staff in the field.

The first operations consisted of dismantling the reactor compartments of the submarines and then transferring them to a long-term storage facility. Rosrao has gone from a railway system to a modular Scheuerle conveyor to be more flexible while maintaining a high level of safety.
