Caterpillar has announced better results on the first quarter of 2017 than 2016. The turnover is up by 3.8%, nearly US$ 9.82 bn higher than expectations which were US$ 9.26 bn.

The manufacturer impacted in recent years by the drop in commodity prices in the mining sector, has seen its share price rising up by more than 7% to US$ 104,42 on 26^th of April.

For the full year, Caterpillar expects now a total sale from US$ 38 bn to US$ 41 bn, with US$ 2 bn more than what was expected.

Jim Umpleby, Ceo stated “There are encouraging signs, especially on the level of our sales in the energy segments…and it’s for the first time in several years”.
