Barrick Gold Corporation, Canadian mining operator of the Lumwana copper mine in Zambia, had elected Rolls-Royce for the regular maintenance of their rigid dumper’s engines.
The contract includes the maintenance of 30 engines MTU of series equipment 4000, designed on rigid dumpers Hitachi, and the 16 cylinder engines should be serviced every 500 hours by more than 10 technicians.

The Lumwana copper mine produces sulphides extracted and then processed in factory dedicated to the production of copper concentrate for fusion. The mine produced 122 923 t of copper in 2016 and expect to reach 124 737 t this year
