Kuwait: The symbolical Silk Road will take US$3 billion causeway shape

Hyundai Engineering and Construction and Kuweit Combined Group Contracting Company are building the causeway which will link Kuwait City in the south to Subiya on the north in only 25 minutes and thus, attempt to bring silk trade route up to date.

With a length of 36km, among which 27km above the sea, the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah causeway project will stand out as one of the most massive infrastructures of Kuwait.

Project engineer Mai Al Messad said : "We have already completed 73% of the project and hope to finish it ahead of the contractual period.”

The causeway project is expected for 2018 meanwhile, US$100 billion are planning to be invested in the construction of new highway routes in the north.
