Senegal : Extension of the Highway of the Future completed

In Senegal, Eiffage inaugurates last 24 October the extension of the highway of the future in Dakar. The Group was in charge of the conception and construction of the second section as well as it management and maintenance until 2039.

The extension of the highway of the future, between the access junction of Diamniado and the international airport of Blaise Diagne is completed. This second section with a 2x2 lanes expanding over 16,5 km and including 3 interchanges and 18 lane tolls had been achieved in 29 months by the teams of Eiffage Engineering, Eiffage of Senegal and Eiffage Energy. The project represents an investment of about € 140 million, and was financed up to € 35 million by Eiffage. In return, Eiffage Concession will maintain and service the portion until 2039.

The first extension of 25,5 km between Dakar and Diamniadio has been opened by Eiffage on August 1st, 2013. Today it is used daily by more than 70 000 vehicles. The opening of the second section will link Dakar downtown to the new airport Blaise Diagne and the tourist area of Saly-Mbou.
