Deutz unveils its TCD 9.0 engine in Shanghai
On Bauma China, Deuz is exhibiting alongside its joint venture Deutz (Dalian) Engine (DDE). Featured: the world’s first TCD 9.0 engine.

This 4-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 9 liters is the first of a new generation of engines that Deutz develops in the context of a partnership with the manufacturer Liebherr. For the record, the engines (all 6 cylinders) manufactured by Liebherr will be sold by Deutz under its own brand. The partnership provides that the Chinese joint venture in Deutz will produce the TCD 9.0 under license so that it can more easily integrate into the local market.

The TCD 9.0 delivers 300 kW and 1700 Nm of torque. It also features a very compact design that makes it easy to install in a wide range of applications. It is particularly suitable for excavators and wheel loaders. All engines are being converted to Stage V, Tier 4, China IV and Stage IIIA and will be available as standard in 2019.

"With these new engines, we complement our product range and can now answer many powers and applications. Furthermore, the TCD 9.0 produced by Dalian give us the proximity that we need with our Chinese partners," said Michael Wellenzohn , Head of Sales, Service and Marketing at Deutz AG.

Together with TCD 9.0, Deutz will exhibit TCD 2.9 on Bauma China, which will represent the range of compact small engines. This 4-cylinder engine is now available in high power (HP) in 75 kW and in High Torque version (HT) with 375 Nm of torque. It will also be produced in China by the company Deutz (Dalian) Engine from 2019.
