Cat wheeled excavators receive Blue Angel certification

The Cat wheel excavators and wheel material handlers have been awarded the Blue Angel environmental certification by the German Federal Agency for the Environment and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Conservation, Construction and Safety Nuclear.

Blue Angel certification recognizes products that protect people and the environment while reducing noise and carbon emissions. The Cat M318F, M320F and M322F wheeled excavators and the MH3022 and MH3024 wheel material handlers won this highly coveted certification, demonstrating Caterpillar’s commitment to environmental protection. For the record, the Cat 906M, 907M, 908M, 926M, 930M and 938M wheel loaders had already obtained Blue Angel certification previously.

In practice, Cat models have been tested in the category of building machines by RAL GmbH, the German Institute for Quality and Certification. The awarding of the Blue Angel label is based on a methodology that takes into account the reduction of CO2, particle and noise emissions. The requirements and test values are stricter than the legal limits imposed by the European Union. Today Caterpillar is the only manufacturer to have received Blue Angel certification in the construction machinery category.
