The immersed tunnel between Germany and Denmark

To realize the world’s longest immersed tunnel, Femern A/S has signed a contract with Ramboll, Arup and TEC JV for the supply of client consultancy services and with Hansen & Henneberg for the supply of in-house consultancy services, for the establishment of the fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt.

The project will involve the 18 km of immersed tunnel and carry a four-lane motorway alongside a twin track-electrified railway. It will connect Rodbyhavn in Denmark with Puttgarden in Germany and it will be the world’s longest immersed road and rail tunnel under water.
