Spie Belgium, a subsidiary of the Spie group specializing in energy and communications, is working with Brussels Formation and Interface3 to help women gain access to electricity trades.
In January, for example, twelve women began training as an industrial electrician in Brussels. Organized by Brussels Formation and Interface3, this 11-month curriculum includes various modules (mathematics, computer science, electricity, electrical installations, automation in cabled logic and rotating machines). Dutch lessons, stress management and communication are also on the program.

During their training, future industrial electricians will have to undergo a 6-month internship in a company. They are welcome at Spie Belgium, which is already taking many measures internally to promote gender balance. Indeed, as part of its CSR program, Spie Belgium has set up ’So’SPIE Ladies’, an awareness network on the subject.
"In addition to organizing workshops and recruiting more female profiles, we have responded positively to the call from Brussels Training and Interface3, and we are associated with their positive approach to integrating more women into so-called masculine sectors , of which electricity is a part, and in late January we went with these future electricians to one of our construction sites in Liège to give them the opportunity to realize the reality of the site. Those who are interested can present to Spie Belgium their application for an internship ," said Jean-Pierre Martin, Human Resources Director at Spie Belgium.
