In Germany, Rockwheel reduces noise

In Schrozberg, Germany, a Rockwheel D30 hydraulic cutter was preferred by Schneider & Sohn to dig trenches in the residential area. With success and less noise.

Noise is the number one enemy of construction sites in residential areas. In Schwäbisch Hall, Schneider & Sohn fell on mineral concrete, layers of light earth and rock. To avoid the noise generated by a hammer, they preferred to use a Rockwheel D30 cutter known for its silent operation. And for good reason, for a material with 30 MPa, the cutter has a yield of 30m 3 / hour of slaughtered rock. By way of comparison, a hammer is limited to 10 m 3 / hour.

Silent operation is not its only asset. It has a short design which gives it good stability during the work. The load exerted on the excavator’s arm is also reduced with its compact dimensions. The power of the excavator is thus transmitted directly to the cutter without substantial loss. Namely, the short design of the Rockwheel milling cutters is made possible by the absence of a reducer. The dimensions of the housing can therefore be reduced.
