IFM Electronic: calorimetric flow meters optimized for liquids and gases

IFM Electronic launches the new calorimetric flow meters for liquids and gases (water, glycoled water, oils, air ...) evolved. They are a feature of a very fast response time and integrated temperature measurement.

The flow meter of SA series operates according to the calorimetric measurement. Two measuring elements and a heat source are integrated in the probe. They work on the basis of thermal principle using the phenomenon heat removal through convection. The result of the changing temperature determines the flow measurement.

The new sensor, type SA has been designed for detection and measurement of the flow and the temperature even for a large pipe with the diameters up to 400 mm. It can therefore be used in a variety of applications. The switching outputs, analogue signals and IO-Link allows various options for processing the signals. Thus the user is already fully prepared for the Industry 4.0.

Note that the devices feature a very fast response time and integrated measurement of temperature; in absolute mode the inner diameter of the pipe is adjustable from DN15 to DN400. In addition, the color’s changing red / green for process values and an optimal positioning thanks to the adjustable fitting process are also possible.
