Swedish Steel Prize 2017 awarded to Kiruna Wagon

Based in mining capital of Sweden, Kiruna Wagon specializing in the custom design and manufacture of ore wagons, has been awarded the Swedish Steel Prize 2017 for its wagon system Helix Dumper.

Helix Dumper designed with high strength steel, offers a new technology for the unloading of fine-grained minerals.

Swedish Steel Prize Jury had elected the Helix Dumper considering that the company Kiruna Wagon has developed an innovative dumper wagon system for long-haul railroad transportation together with efficient unloading of minerals. Also, the use of advanced high-strength structural and wear resistant steels made possible the design of light cars combined with a stationary Helix terminal for on-the-fly rotary unloading.
