Morocco to test its High-Speed Line

The National Board of Railways (ONCF) announces the start of dynamic tests for the Tangier-Kenitra HSL.

These dynamic tests are to be carried out in stages. Thus, on a line of 40 km from Kenitra, trains will gradually travel to a maximum speed of 160 km / h. The progression will take place gradually in stages, during the second half of 2017, reaching 320 km / h over a hundred km. The aim is to finalize everything to put the line into service in the summer of 2018.

The ONCF recalls that civil works are being completed north of the line and that more than 175 km of platforms have already been completed over a total of 200 km. More than 120 km of tracks are now laid. The project has an 87% rate of progress with more than 120 km of rail laid, all components combined.
