"LGV Morocco is the first of its kind in Africa," recalls Le Monde. Its mission is to link Tangier to Rabat, and Rabat to Casablanca, to Kenitra. This stretch which is completed, has mobilized 5600 workers to move the equivalent of "60 mountains", anchoring with 100 km of piles , fix 700,000 ties and 48 000 t of rail. It also hosts "the longest viaduct for TGV ever realized".
