The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada has presented to the state Senate Transportation Committee its plan for a $12.5 billion light rail system that would connect the Las Vegas Strip to McCarran International Airport.
The RTC plan also includes strategies for self-driving cars, future expansion of infrastructure improvements to the state. These additions would bring the cost of the RTC proposal to $26 billion.

The RTC plan is expected to bring an additional 610,000 visitors to Las Vegas, a city which sees 42 million tourists a year, and generate an extra $810 million for the local economy, as well as create around 20,000 permanent and temporary jobs.
