India "on the way" for development with Volvo CE

In the context of the government plans to accelerate economic growth, significant work was undertaken to expand the road network in India. Volvo Construction Equipment plays a key role.

Many cities in India will benefit an ambitious government plan to modernize infrastructure. The initiative includes the construction of new roads and rehabilitation of major existing roads. The pace of construction has to go to 2 km to 30 km per day. The Indian Ministry of Road and Transport has set up a review committee that meets every month to take progress made. There are currently 11 ongoing projects financed by the World Bank.

The Indian company Bharat Vanijya affected a Volvo machine fleet to a road construction site 84 km on the highway linking Bankura to Purulia, located in the state of West Bengal in eastern India. It includes 29 Volvo machines working since September 2015 on road widening to 2x2 lanes of 5.5 m. On the course line included 7 major bridges and about 84 small cross transversal drainage structures.

The company currently has sixteen excavators EC210B weighing 20t , seven SD110 compactors and three tandem DD100 combined with a pneumatic roller PTR220 and a paver ABG P4370B accompanied by a crawler asphalt paver P5320. The fleet is completed by a HB22 BRH. All materials are seeking to carry the work out for delivery in 22 months.
