Gammon Construction, a leading construction firm in Hong Kong, aims to end labor shortage by using robots to boost the productivity of its workforce and potentially hire more women.
The firm has also recently purchased two sets of exoskeleton systems from Japan that will enable female workers to perform heavy lifting with ease.

At a cost of HK$200,000 each, the exoskeleton is expected to be put to use at any construction site to complete tasks such as tiling and welding. The technology will help eliminate the perception that construction jobs require immense physical strength.
