Caterpillar invests more in drones
Caterpillar Ventures announces an investment in the US company Airware, a provider of turnkey solutions to turn unmanned data into economic and operational decisions for large enterprises.

This investment allows Airware to develop the necessary programs for dealers to provide services and solutions dedicated to construction, mining and quarrying. It also illustrates Caterpillar’s commitment to digital transformation within the mining and public works industry.

"By working with Airware, we can now offer UAV solutions coupled with state-of-the-art technology to digitize and optimize our customers’ operations "

"Commercial drone technology is becoming a necessity for construction companies, mining and quarrying that seek to maximize their overall productivity while reducing costs," said Jonathan Downey, founder and CEO of Airware. "Airware provides customers with a comprehensive, enterprise-wide solution with precise analytics for each type of industry and with the data protection needed to deploy missions on a large scale".

In France, Bergerat Monnoyeur, the exclusive distributor of the Caterpillar brand, will now be able to offer to their customers drones services and analytics, including a set of photogrammetry, mapping and volumetrics tools as well as a suite of Advanced analysis and reporting module
