Liebherr adapts to changing market conditions
Meeting with Jean-Christophe Savoyet, Sales Manager at Liebherr France SAS, and Philippe Hoerner, an expert in the same company, who discuss the necessary adaptation to the evolution of the mining and quarrying market, as well as the material innovations proposed by the constructor.

"The market for mining and quarrying saw many offset machines renewal projects, resulting in aging equipment fleets," notes Jean-Christophe Savoyet, commercial director at Liebherr France SAS. "There is, however, a noticeable shudder through excessive dampening device productive investments contained in the Macron law. This led to a positive effect on orders. But at present, there is still little visibility". A constraint that Liebherr France SAS compensates with a great capacity for adaptation, trying for example to meet the high demand for special machines -. including shovels tunnels - resulting from the construction sites of Greater Paris. "More broadly, our strategy is to continue to move closer to our customers and maintain a regional influence. We also accompany our distribution network by giving them more and more technical knowledge. Always with a view to support our customers as close, we guarantee tracking and customized solutions according to the development of their farms, and killing methods. "

Adapting mining standards to other excavators

Concerning the equipment, Liebherr continues to update its range: the SME crawler excavators for "Super Mass Excavation" are all in Stage IV, while the L 576 XPower loaders and the PR 776 Weighing 80 tons. Philippe Hoerner, product expert at Liebherr France SAS: "Our standard ranges of crawler excavators are adapted according to application areas where demand is felt, and according to the needs of our customers. Today, we believe our careers range covers the full spectrum of user requirements. Our objective is therefore to continue to respond always to the fairest and to adapt as closely as possible to the demand. In the coming months, the effort will focus mainly on the renewal of the range with updated models. " However, Liebherr France SAS has also established a working group on security issues and accessibility of excavators operating in Quarries: the idea would be to extend the technical solutions of mining excavators to excavators of smaller tonnages. Specifically, adapting the mining standards to other excavators could therefore meet these safety challenges.
