The quarry operator S.C. Grandemar S.A, had invested in two new Liebherr crawler excavators R 976 in retro version. The newcomers are used in the quarries of Bologa and Morlaca, close to Cluj, in Romania. After the blasting, they load the mined material (diorite and andesite rocks) into the buckets of the rigid dumper trucks which feed the crusher.

In the retro version, they seduce by their reducing fuel consumption (average of 40 to 45 l per hour) and their ideal size of bucket which make them particularly profitable. The R 976 used on the Bologa side thus achieves a production rate of 400-tonne per hour.
S.C. Grandemar excavators are also equipped with multiple protective elements on the rotating mechanism and the pipe, on the piston rods of the boom and bucket and on the bottom of the stick. The floor plates of the undercarriage and the middle part of the undercarriage ensure maximum durability of the machine components.
