In Hamburg, the Philharmonic trusts Spie

The new Elbe Philharmonie in Hamburg, Germany, awards the management of its concert hall facilities to Spie GmbH, a subsidiary of the Spie Group, a specialist in multi-technical services in the energy and Communications.

The Elbe Philharmonic complex includes two concert halls, an area dedicated to music education with its own concert hall, a hotel, bars and restaurants as well as apartments. The property management company Adamanta Grundstücks-Vermietungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. - Objekt Elbphilharmonie KG therefore entered into a contract for a period of 20 years and four months with Spie as the main contractor for the technical and commercial facility management (FM) , as well as infrastructure management. Spie GmbH will also be responsible for the functionality of public areas, hotels, car parks, concert halls, bars and restaurants.

Some innovative achievements are to be emphasized, starting with the "Tube", presented as the first curved rolling escalator in the world and one of the longest in Europe, totaling 82 meters. It is cooled by water from the river and deep wells, with a flow rate of about 130 m 3 / h. For their part, the ventilation systems ensuring the supply of fresh air within the main hall have a capacity of 130 000 m 3 / h. Finally, water tanks are installed throughout the building for the prevention of fires, supplying more than 20 valves with sprinkler systems up to 400 m 3 of water. The entire system is controlled by integrated facility management systems, which are also managed by Spie GmbH.
