Belgium: Spie focuses on Renewable Energy

Since the end of 2015, Spie Belgium, a subsidiary of the Spie group specialized in multi-technical services in the field of energy, has taken charge of the connection to the grid and the complete wiring of 4 new wind farms. Achievements that reinforce the company’s aggressive strategy in the renewable energy sector.

The first contract for Siemens Wind Power consisted of the installation of low-voltage cables in the Rieme wind farm and their connection to wind turbines and transformers. A first mission quickly followed by a second mission for Aspiravi, a key player in renewable energy in Belgium. In the Assenede wind farm, Spie Belgium connected six wind turbines to the Elia grid. This mission was carried out between February and May 2016. The subsidiary then undertook a wiring contract in the Meer wind farm (prime contractor: Siemens Wind Power) and a complete renovation of the wind farm, Herdersbrug near Bruges (operator of the project: Wind4Flanders, Engie).
