FCC Construcción – a division of Spanish-based FCC Group – has been awarded a €1.6 billion contract by the Romanian National Railway Company to work on the Atel to Micasasa railway section in Romania’s Transylvania region.
The new project is part of the modernisation of railway in the Pan European Corridor IV supported and financed by The European Union, a section which runs from Dresden in Germany to Istanbul in Turkey.

The project includes the modernization of railway lines, bridges, overpasses and underpasses, a tunnel, and numerous stop stations.
