The agreement was signed in Montreal as part of the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang in Canada. It aims to establish a framework allowing both sides to build on their complementary expertise to provide better customer service, better serve the global market for rail equipment and support long-term growth targets on specific projects. Bombardier and CRRC particularly focus on the development of the Chinese and international market and the management of the common resources of production.

As a reminder, Bombardier has a strong presence in the Chinese market where it owns three joint ventures formed with subsidiaries of CRRC in China. They notably build TGV, subway, monorails etc. Until today, they have provided more than 3,000 high speed trains and over 2000 metro to the Chinese market.
