The two moving bridges will be equipped with a steel superstructure covered with a synthetic fiber apron. The design of these mobile bridges reduces the forces exerted on the foundations in order to avoid sagging. In addition to the advantage of a lighter (and consequently cheaper) construction, a lower total weight also means less energy consumption.
PUBLICITÉ
For civil engineering aspects such as the bridge engine room and the concrete access ramps, Spie will use a partner, Friso BV. Dura Vermeer’s expertise will be used for asphalting and road links.
A forthcoming tender will be launched in a few months for the renovation of other bridges in North Holland. In the meantime, work on this project will begin after the summer of 2017 for a return to service of the works in September 2018.
