Paschal to build formwork for bridge in Germany

Paschal supplied formwork and shoring materials for the construction of an urban bridge in St Augustin, Germany.

In order to improve the traffic flows of the city of St Augustin, a tunnel of the tramway line 66 is being built to replace an inconvenient crossing . A necessary building site despite the fact that the revitalization of the Huma shopping center suggests an increase in individual transport. In order not to interrupt the rail link between Siegburg and Bonn, the bridge will be built next to its future location.

The formwork and the removal of the load were entrusted to Paschal. They began in August 2016 and the concreting of the reinforced concrete slab occurred last September. The project consists of the creation of two works separated by only one joint. One of the bridges will carry the railways later, the other bridge will host a cycle path and pedestrian.

The foundations of the bridge were built using 100 m² of universal formwork trellis. Additional foundations were also formed using the universal formwork Treillis. The two foundations of the bridge have been joined with 3 girders, for safety reasons and to avoid any cracks.

To form the 4 retaining walls, 500 m² of LOGO.3 formwork of different heights were used. During the finishing of the wall, the edge formwork was used and combined in part with nearly 20 climbing brackets. Finally, in order to safely recover the temporary load occurring during the concreting of the slab, the TG60 multi-purpose shoring system was used on a base area of approximately 185 m².
