If we needed any further proof of the efficiency of the Japanese in the face of the whims of the earth, here we are. In Fukuoka, the 7th most populous city in Japan, the extension of the subway caused the collapse of a very busy roadway on November 7th. The giant hole, 27 meters wide and 15 meters deep, was refilled in one week, with more than 7,000 cubic meters of cement. 100 workers were assigned to this task. The road was reopened to traffic on November 15th.
