Caterpillar improves its 953K loaders

The American manufacturer Caterpillar announced that it has optimized the performance and energy efficiency of its 953K chain loaders. With a capacity of 129 kW, the 15.6 tonne machine has an oscillating bucket between 1.6 and 2.1 m 3 .

The new Caterpillar 953K Track Loader takes on the rugged design of its predecessor while benefiting from technical improvements that increase fuel efficiency and provide increased equipment control and steering response. In addition, gear changes are now more flexible thanks to the Powershift transmission. The 953K is equipped with a 129 kW Cat C7.1 Acert engine that complies with Stage IV emission standards and has an Eco mode that automatically limits the engine speed and maintains the selected ground speed when the machine is carrying light loads. Design that, according to Caterpillar, would reduce the fuel consumption of the 953K compared to the 953D by up to 22%. The bucket, with a capacity ranging from 1.6 to 2.1 m 3 , can benefit from an optional upgrade that would move up to 10% more materials per hour.

The improvements include a new powertrain management system designed to provide greater flexibility in the steering and equipment and to more effectively convey the power of the machine to the ground. The load sensing hydraulics and the position sensing cylinders increase the precision and responsiveness of the machine. Finally, the selectable electrohydraulic grids make it possible to adjust the response levels of the equipment according to the preferences of the user, and to adapt the machine to each application.
