Liebherr Middle East FZE and Dutco Balfour Beatty have made modifications to a crane from the German manufacturer used to pound the ground at Expo Village in Dubai, United Arab Emirates: a vibrating hammer, powered by an HS engine 8100 HD of 100 tons, productivity gains of around 20%. The crawler crane therefore uses its own engine power to operate the hammer, and install the envelopes of the batteries. At the sides, other Liebherr cranes work together: two HS 8050 HD units of 50 tons are used for steel cages, and another LR 1130 unit with a maximum load capacity of 197 tons is also present on site. Entrepreneur Dutco Balfour Beatty has 6 months in front of him to complete the shelling and then foundations of the Expo Village site, but table over 4 months and a half thanks to this modification of the HS 8100 HD. This avoids the need to use a separate power supply, since the hammer and the crane are powered by one and the same motor, that of the machine. A configuration that saves time, energy, weight, maneuverability and manpower.
