Wichita Case Factory Distinguished

Case Construction Equipment was awarded the Silver Level of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) certification for its skid steer loader and compact track loader manufacturing facility located in Wichita, Kansas, USA.

Inaugurated in 1974, the Wichita site covers an area of 46,000 m². In addition to the production of skid steer loader and compact track loader, it also houses a research and development department. It employs more than 400 people and exports the machines around the world.

The WCM method is one of the most stringent certifications in the global manufacturing sector. It deals with the integrated management of factories and manufacturing processes. Based on the concept of permanent improvement, it aims to eliminate waste and loss from the production process, by identifying objectives such as the total absence of injuries, defects, breakdown and waste. Certification of improvements is made through a system of periodic evaluations of several WCM pillars, the overall score obtained for each plant to reach one of three levels: Gold, Silver or Bronze.

The level reached by the Wichita teams is justified by the efforts made in certain categories, including professional maintenance, the level of data control and the motivation of the employees.
